Tinubu Needs Christian Prayers for Success, Says Lagos CAN Leader
Dr. Stephen Adegbite, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Lagos and Bishop of the Methodist Church, has called on Christians nationwide to pray fervently for President Bola Tinubu’s administration to succeed.
Speaking to journalists at the centenary anniversary lecture of the Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Unification of Nigeria, Adegbite emphasized the importance of unity among Christians and support for the nation’s leadership.
Adegbite praised President Tinubu’s efforts, describing them as commendable, and urged churches to sustain their prayers for the country’s progress. He also celebrated the C&S Church’s 100-year milestone, crediting its founder, Moses Orimolade, for establishing a legacy of holiness that has influenced many Pentecostal practices in Nigeria. “The C&S Church remains a beacon of faith, and no challenge can diminish its impact,” he said.
Highlighting the need for Christian unity, Adegbite stressed that division among churches hinders progress. “We must stand as one body in Christ to move Nigeria forward,” he added.
In response, Dr. Solomon Adegboyega Alao, the supreme head of C&S Unification, expressed gratitude for Adegbite’s remarks and reaffirmed the church’s commitment to growth. “We are a work in progress, but the C&S Church will continue to stand strong,” Alao said.
Adegbite’s call for prayer and unity underscores the pivotal role of the church in supporting Nigeria’s leadership and fostering national progress.
