Bandits Abducts APC Chieftain in Ibadan
Gunmen have kidnapped a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Wale Oriade, during an attack in Ibadan on Wednesday evening.
The incident happened at about 7:06 p.m. at his office inside the PJ Square Shopping Complex beside the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited station at Elewure, along Iyana Ajanla on the Akala Expressway. Witnesses said the attackers arrived in a blue Micra car and were armed.
A driver and another armed occupant reportedly forcefully took Oriade and sped off in the same vehicle. Residents said the precision of the attack has caused fear in the area. No ransom demand had been made as of the time of filing this report.
The Oyo State APC confirmed the abduction in a statement signed by the APC Oyo South Senatorial Chairman, Mojeed Olaoya, and the State Youth Leader, John Aremu.

The party called on the Nigeria Police Force to begin a quick, coordinated rescue operation.
According to the statement, a prompt rescue would not only ease the pain of Oriade’s family but also reassure the public that security agencies remain alert. The party commended the police for past efforts but urged heightened vigilance.
Former Senate Leader Teslim Folarin also condemned the kidnap, describing it as disturbing.
He appealed to security operatives to deploy all intelligence necessary to secure Oriade’s safe return and encouraged residents to cooperate with authorities by providing useful information.
