Hilda Baci Secures Third Guinness World Record with Rice Feat
Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has been confirmed as a three-time Guinness World Record holder after her September 2025 achievement earned her an additional global title for the largest serving of rice overall.
The confirmation, conveyed by Guinness World Records, showed that Baci’s record-breaking preparation of Nigerian-style jollof rice also met the criteria for the largest serving of rice worldwide. The development means a single effort secured two records, raising her total to three.
Guinness World Records communicated the update through an email signed by Andrew Fanning, Head of Client Partnering, Records Creative Team, noting that a review of record guidelines revealed that the jollof rice feat automatically qualified for the broader rice category.
Baci disclosed the update on Tuesday through her Instagram page, where she also amended her profile to reflect her new status. She described the moment as unexpected, saying the confirmation came several months after the original record announcement.

The chef had set the jollof rice record in September 2025 during a cookout in Lagos, where she prepared 8,780 kilogrammes of the dish, recognised as the largest quantity of Nigerian-style jollof rice ever made. That feat was initially acknowledged as her second Guinness World Record.
Her first record was achieved in May 2023, when she completed a 93-hour, 11-minute cooking marathon, making her the first Nigerian chef to hold multiple Guinness World Records at the time.
Baci attributed the latest success to teamwork, singling out her collaborator, Oreoluwa Atinmo, for playing a key role in turning the idea into a record-breaking reality. She also expressed gratitude for what she described as divine guidance throughout her journey.
