James had already rewritten history in 2023 when he surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s long-standing regular-season scoring record of 38,387 points. With his latest achievement, he now sits nearly 6,000 points ahead of Abdul-Jabbar’s total career tally of 44,149 points.
Other all-time scoring leaders include Karl Malone (41,689 points), the late Kobe Bryant (39,283 points), and Michael Jordan (38,279 points). Among active players, only Kevin Durant, with just over 35,000 points, ranks in the top 10, trailing James by roughly 15,000 points.
At 40 years old and still performing at an elite level in his 22nd NBA season, James continues to push the limits of what is possible in professional basketball.
