After my tenure I will face EFCC – Gov Eno

Governor Umo Eno has declared that only Akwa Ibom residents with a sense of entitlement will fail to benefit from his administration, as he refuses to distribute ‘Ghana-must-go’ bags of cash to idle individuals.

Speaking at the Uyo Township Stadium on Tuesday during the distribution of cash awards, business startup tools, and equipment to beneficiaries, Eno stressed his commitment to empowering hardworking citizens rather than indulging political handouts.

He expressed confidence in his administration’s transparency, noting that even if petitions were filed against him at the EFCC after his tenure, he would be able to defend his actions.

“I will support the work of your hands because I know after my tenure, petitions will be written, and I will face the EFCC. But I will defend the work I did. I will not bring ‘Ghana-must-go’ to anyone.”

The governor urged citizens to support leaders instead of engaging in smear campaigns, warning that such negativity discourages good governance.

“Akwa Ibom belongs to all of us. As long as you are willing to work, we will support you and do the right thing,” he added.
