One of the neighbors, who witnessed the frightening scene from a distance, remarked, “At first, we thought they were security agents because of the way they were dressed. It wasn’t until the gunshots rang out that we realized something was wrong.”

Following the abduction, the kidnappers reached out to Ugbo’s wife, initially demanding a ransom of N200 million. By Monday morning, the ransom demand had been reduced to N100 million. The kidnappers made their threats clear, showing that they were serious about their demands.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident and reassured the public that efforts were underway to locate the kidnappers and rescue Ugbo safely. The police are currently pursuing all available leads in the hope of bringing the perpetrators to justice.

The case has raised concerns among residents about the increasing spate of abductions in the region, further heightening the atmosphere of fear in the area.
