Ports & Cargo Signs Stevedoring Deal With Micura
Ports & Cargo Handling Services Limited, a subsidiary of SIFAX Group, has appointed Micura Services Limited to manage stevedoring operations at its terminal located in Tin Can Island Port, Lagos.
The decision, which takes effect from August 1, is part of a larger restructuring plan aimed at streamlining operations and improving service delivery at the terminal.
Managing Director of Ports & Cargo, John Jenkins, said the new structure will allow the company to concentrate on its core responsibility of port management while outsourcing cargo handling and related duties to a professional firm.
“With this transition, we are entering a new phase of growth. We’re focused on improving efficiency, raising our operational standards, and becoming the preferred terminal for shipping lines and agents in Nigeria,” Jenkins said. “Micura Services was selected based on their industry track record, experience, and deep understanding of Nigeria’s port environment.”
