The Island All-Stars Sports Club is prepared for leadership transition as elections approach ,

it concludes preparations for the election of its executive council members.

The club, known for blending social engagement with community service, will head to the polls on Saturday, May 17.

To determine those who will steer its affairs for the next three years.

The forthcoming election is generating excitement among members, with several positions up for grabs.

Campaigning is in full swing, as candidates work diligently to garner support through lobbying and persuasive engagements.

The atmosphere within the club has been charged with anticipation, as members evaluate the readiness and vision of aspirants ahead of the highly anticipated vote.

A pivotal moment in the electoral process came last weekend during the club’s Manifesto Night.

A tradition that allows candidates to share their vision and plans if elected.

Held on Saturday and stretching into the early hours of Sunday,

the event provided a platform for contenders to outline their goals and interact directly with members.

The highlight of the evening was the presidential debate segment,

where the two leading candidates for the top position responded to probing questions.

Their responses gave insight into how they intend to build on the foundation laid by the outgoing leadership.

Outgoing President Ikenna Maduagwu used the occasion to reflect on his tenure, offering both a farewell and a challenge to those seeking to take over.

“This night is our manifesto night leading to the general election which has been scheduled for next Saturday.

My tenure is done. As per our constitution, the presidency is limited to a single three-year term,

although other offices may seek re-election,” Maduagwu noted.

He also highlighted some of the club’s key achievements under his leadership,

especially its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR).

“We believe a club should not exist in isolation from the community. We’ve made education and healthcare our priority,” he said.

The administration also extended support to healthcare facilities, including donations to public hospitals such as the Mother and Child Hospital.

As the election draws closer, members of Island All-Stars are expected to make choices,

that reflect not only the club’s sporting and social goals but its growing role as a force for community development.

The outcome of Saturday’s vote will set the tone for the next chapter in the club’s journey,

one that continues to balance sportsmanship with service.
