Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has announced a partnership with Africa’s leading electric vehicle company, Spiro, to launch his own line of electric bikes across the continent.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Davido described the project as a Made-in-Africa solution aimed at empowering motorcycle riders and addressing Africa’s transportation needs.
“Years ago, I claimed 30BG, but it wasn’t just about success it was about purpose. Today, I’m transforming that vision into something bigger: generational wealth and ownership. With my own line of electric bikes, in partnership with Spiro, we’re not just building a product we’re building a movement,” he wrote.

Highlighting the significance of motorcycles in Africa, Davido noted that over 27 million bikes serve as a primary mode of transportation, with 80% of riders relying on them for their livelihoods.
He also acknowledged the role of Okada riders in his career and expressed his desire to give back through this initiative.
“These same Okada drivers, who have supported me throughout my career, moved my music, my name, and my story across every corner of Nigeria and Africa. Now it’s time to give back,” he added.
Davido emphasized that the venture goes beyond business, representing a shift towards African solutions for African challenges.

“Streams might belong to foreign labels, but this is how you flip the script. This is how you turn influence into equity, and visibility into ownership,” he said, adding that financing solutions will be available for riders across Nigeria and Africa.
He reiterated his philosophy of We Rise By Lifting Others, stating that this partnership is a testament to the power of community-driven initiatives.
Speaking on the bike’s design, he praised the Spiro team and hinted at an upcoming product reveal.

“These bikes are fly! Big shoutout to Tycoone and the Spiro team for the groundbreaking design. Can’t wait until we reveal the final product.”
Davido concluded by announcing that the project is already live in Nigeria, Togo, Benin, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, and Ghana, urging interested riders to sign up on the Spiro website.
