DSS Sues Pat Utomi Over Alleged Plot to Form Shadow Government

The Department of State Services (DSS) has filed a lawsuit against Professor Pat Utomi over alleged plans to establish a “shadow government” in Nigeria.

In a suit lodged at the Federal High Court in Abuja, the DSS urged the court to declare the alleged move an unconstitutional act and a direct threat to national stability.

Prof. Utomi, the 2007 presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), was named as the sole defendant in the suit filed on May 13 by Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Akinlolu Kehinde.

According to the DSS, Utomi’s alleged attempt to form a parallel administration is designed to create chaos and destabilize the democratically elected government.

The secret police described the idea of a “shadow government” as a grave violation of the constitution and warned that it posed serious threats to national peace and order.
