NNPC Begins Nationwide Training to Empower 6,000 Farmers

The NNPCL Foundation has launched a major agricultural training programme to empower 6,000 vulnerable farmers across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.

In Enugu State, where the initiative was officially launched, 1,000 smallholder farmers from the South-East region gathered with hope for a better future.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture and Agro-Industrialisation, Hon. Patrick Ubru, said, “This programme is timely and will change the lives of many farmers in our rural communities.”

The Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of NNPC Limited, designed the programme to equip farmers with modern techniques to boost food production and secure livelihoods.

“We are proud to partner with NNPCL Foundation in empowering our people and ensuring food security,” Ubru stated while praising the initiative.

The farmers, many of whom have struggled with outdated methods and lack of support, were visibly joyful as they received training tools and assurances of better days ahead.

The NNPCL Foundation emphasized its commitment to building a future where every farmer, no matter how vulnerable, can thrive with knowledge, resources, and hope.
