The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has confirmed that corps members will start receiving a new monthly allowance of ₦77,000 from February 2025.

Speaking on Thursday while addressing the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II corps members in Katsina, Ahmed stated that the new allowance has been included in the 2025 Federal Government budget.

“This month (January) has already ended, but once the budget is passed. By next month (February), you will start receiving ₦77,000 instead of the usual ₦33,000,” the NYSC DG said.

He further explained that the increase was approved by the federal government and urged corps members to show appreciation through dedication and commitment during their service year.

Reaffirming the NYSC’s commitment to the welfare and security of corps members, Ahmed assured them that they would not be sent to unsafe locations. “We will not send our corps members to wherever we have challenges of security threats. Wherever we send them, they should be rest assured that the place is safe and secured for them to serve,” he stated.
