PDP Governors, Pay Glowing Tribute to the Resilience and Sacrifice of Nigerian Worker’s
As Nigerian workers marked the 2025 Workers’ Day on Thursday, governors elected on the platform,
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) paid glowing tribute to the resilience and sacrifice of the nation’s workforce,
describing their role in nation-building as nothing short of heroic.
In a heartfelt statement issued by the Director General of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Emmanuel Agbo,
The governors, under the leadership of the Bauchi State Governor and Forum Chairman, Bala Mohammed,
Celebrated the tireless efforts of workers , acknowledging their struggles in the face of a deteriorating socio-economic area.
The statement, came as part of the forum’s commemoration of May Day,
The indispensable role that Nigerian workers play in sustaining the country’s economy, development, and social fabric,
despite overwhelming challenges ranging from inflation to job insecurity.
“Your unwavering dedication, resilience, and sacrifices in the face of adversity remain the driving force behind Nigeria’s progress,” the statement read.

“We see your daily struggles, navigating a system that often fails to reflect your value.
You rise every morning to contribute your quota to national growth. That courage is heroic.”
The forum acknowledged the widespread hardship workers face, including stagnant wages, poor working conditions,
Limited access to social support. The governors noted that Nigerian workers have continued to demonstrate an unbreakable spirit,
they deserves not just recognition but also tangible improvements in welfare.
The forum reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare of workers in PDP-controlled states,
Pointing to the full implementation of the agreed minimum wage and other labor-friendly policies as evidence of its pro-worker stance.
“All PDP-governed states have implemented the minimum wage, and we continue to prioritise fair treatment,
Timely payment of salaries, and investment in capacity building,” the forum said.
“We believe that a motivated workforce is crucial to driving change.”
The governors urged workers to maintain unity and remain hopeful,
They acknowledged the widening gap between the national government’s policies and the lived realities of everyday Nigerians.

“Though the socio-economic climate may feel unsupportive, and though it may seem like the national government is distant from the real struggles of workers,
we urge you not to lose hope,” “Together, through resilience, solidarity, and collective action, we can forge a better path forward.”
The forum reminds Nigerians that the labor movement has historically been a catalyst for progress and reform.
They called on the federal government to engage more meaningfully with workers’ unions and to develop policies that reflect the true needs of the labor force.
As millions of Nigerians paused to reflect on Workers’ Day, the PDP governors’ message stood as both a tribute and a call to action.
