The Sokoto State Police Command has commenced the enforcement of the third-party vehicle insurance policy in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun. The operation, which began today, February 1, 2025, is aimed at ensuring that all motorists comply with insurance regulations.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Rufai, confirmed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Musa, has instructed officers to handle the enforcement with professionalism and integrity. He warned that any misconduct or abuse of power by police personnel would attract strict disciplinary action.
CP Musa also urged vehicle owners in Sokoto State to ensure their insurance documents are up to date to avoid facing legal consequences. He emphasized that the enforcement team, under the supervision of senior officers, will work across the state to implement the policy effectively.
The Sokoto Police Command reiterated its commitment to upholding the law and ensuring road safety, urging motorists to comply with the insurance policy to avoid penalties.
