In a significant development, the Ogun State Police Command arraigned the suspended Olorile of Orile Ifo, Semiu Adewale Ogunjobi, on Tuesday for assaulting a 73-year-old man, Elder Abraham Areola.
The suspended monarch faces three counts of conspiracy, assault, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.
According to the Force Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, Ogunjobi pleaded not guilty to the offenses and was granted bail on liberal terms of 5 million Naira with two sureties in the like sum.

The case has been adjourned to March 6 for a hearing.
This development comes after the Ogun State government, in collaboration with the Egba Traditional Council, suspended Ogunjobi on Monday.
A viral video had surfaced, showing the traditional ruler physically assaulting the elderly man alongside his accomplices.
The Committee for Human Rights revealed that Ogunjobi, a former police officer, initially denied being the person in the video but later confessed at the Eleweran headquarters of the Ogun State police command.
It is alleged that Ogunjobi used his influence and that of his wife, Officer Veronica, to threaten the peace of Orile Ifo .
