20-Year-Old man, Allegedly Macheting Father to Death
20-year-old man, Muhammad Salisu, has been arrested for allegedly killing his father, Salisu Abubakar,
With a machete during a violent altercation recently in the Bakin Kasuwa Quarters of Sara District,
Gwaram Local Government Area, Jigawa State.The attack occurred at around 10 a.m.,
According to a statement released recently by the Jigawa State Police Command.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Shi’isu Adam, confirmed the details,
Stating, the suspect reportedly struck his father with a machete, inflicting severe wounds on his shoulder, neck, and chest.
Family members and neighbors, shocked by the violent outburst, rushed to the scene in an attempt to save the elder Salisu.
He was quickly transported to the Federal Medical Centre in Birnin Kudu.Despite efforts by medical personnel,
He was pronounced dead shortly after arrival due to the severity of his injuries.
The incident has left the small community of Sara District reeling in grief and confusion,
Residents struggle to understand what could have led a son to turn so violently on his father.
“This is something we never expected. He was always quiet,” said a neighbor who asked not to be named. “No one saw this coming.”

Immediately after receiving the distress report, officers from the Sara Police Division were deployed to the location.
According to the police, they found the suspect still at the scene and promptly took him into custody.
The alleged weapon, a bloodstained machete, was recovered and is now part of the evidence in the ongoing investigation.
Jigawa State Commissioner of Police, AT Abdullahi, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department

We are committed to uncovering the full circumstances and ensuring that justice is served,” the Commissioner stated.
As of now, the motive behind the alleged murder remains unknown.
Police are interviewing witnesses and family members to piece together what may have triggered the attack.
“We urge anyone with information to come forward. The investigation will be meticulous and impartial,” added PPRO Adam.
The suspect, Muhammad Salisu, remains in police custody and is expected to be formally charged in court once investigations are complete.
Salisu’s body has been released to the family for burial,in accordance with Islamic rites.
