JAMB Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, overseeing the exercise at a CBT center in Bwari, Abuja, announced that preliminary results from the mock will be released on Friday.

He explained that exam organizers are currently reviewing the performance of the first batch of candidates and will compare the results with those of subsequent groups to ensure the process runs smoothly.

Discussing the purpose of the exercise, Oloyede highlighted that the mock exam is designed to test the board’s readiness for the main examination while also piloting improvements in the testing procedures. “The idea is for us to learn from this experience as much as the students do, ensuring we can implement effective strategies for the actual exam,” he said.

Addressing concerns over examination integrity, Oloyede warned that some candidates have been turning to unauthorized websites that promise shortcuts to passing the exam. “We have taken proactive steps by launching a decoy website to expose these rogue operators. This morning, around 180 students were identified as having paid for illicit assistance,” he stated, adding that such infractions would result in the cancellation of both the UTME and DE results for those involved.

Oloyede also urged candidates to avoid fraudulent websites and emphasized that success in the UTME can only be achieved through diligent study. The official 2025 UTME is set to begin on April 25 at approved CBT centers across the country.
