2Baba Faces Backlash Over Remarks on Male Fidelity

Veteran Nigerian musician Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba or 2Face, has stirred a wave of controversy online following a comment he made about male sexual behavior.
Speaking on the +234 podcast hosted by Nedu Wazobia, the award-winning singer shared his view that it is “almost impossible” for a man to remain sexually committed to one woman, even if he truly loves her. According to him, the desire for variety is something many men struggle with, regardless of emotional attachment.
“A man is not built to be sexually with one woman,” he said during the podcast conversation. “Heart and love dey with one woman. But sexually, e dey impossible for man. It is the biology of man.”
He continued: “Man fit love one woman die, but when it comes to that sexual satisfaction it’s hard. The seed too plenty, you no fit drop am for one woman…”

While a few listeners agreed with his opinion and linked it to what they described as human biology, a larger number accused the singer of normalizing infidelity and using masculinity as an excuse for irresponsible behavior. Some critics argued that, as a public figure, his comments could send the wrong message about commitment and relationships.
