Former Turkish referee Ahmet Çakar has criticized Galatasaray’s vice president, Abdullah Kavukcu, and football agent George Gardi for what he described as an embarrassment to the club after a failed move to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.
Galatasaray reportedly offered €75 million to Napoli in a bid to secure Osimhen on a permanent deal, but the Italian club has yet to respond to the proposal. The 25-year-old forward spent last season on loan at Galatasaray and remains a top transfer target for the Turkish champions.
Club officials, who travelled to Italy in hopes of finalizing the deal, returned to Istanbul empty-handed, a development that drew Çakar’s anger. He accused both Kavukcu and Gardi of damaging the club’s reputation with their unsuccessful attempt.

“I congratulate Abdullah Kavukcu and broker Gardi, who gave 75 million euros for Osimhen and couldn’t get him, for this disgrace they caused Galatasaray,” Çakar was quoted as saying by local media outlet Habersarikirmizi.
Victor Osimhen has expressed a desire to leave Napoli this summer, but a deal has not yet been reached.
