Adeboye Warns of ‘Christian Genocide’ in Nigeria, Urges Government to Act

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has expressed deep concern over what he described as a “Christian genocide” in Nigeria, calling on the federal government to take decisive steps to end the killings across the country.

Speaking during the November Holy Ghost Service at the Redemption Camp, Adeboye said it was time for the government to stop making excuses and address the rising attacks on innocent citizens, particularly Christians.

“This is not the time for semantics,” he said. “People are dying, innocent people are dying and something urgent must be done.”

Adeboye urged President Bola Tinubu to give service chiefs a three-month ultimatum to eliminate terrorists and their sponsors, stressing that those who fail to deliver within the period should resign.

He also advised the government to seek diplomatic means to strengthen its fight against insecurity, suggesting that Nigeria could request a 100-day grace period from the United States to reorganize its security operations.

“All the so-called world powers will only talk; they will not come to our aid,” he added. “We must face this challenge ourselves.”

Adeboye’s remarks come amid renewed global discussions on religious persecution in Nigeria and a recent motion introduced in the United States Congress condemning what it termed the killing of Christians in the country.

His statement has since sparked widespread reactions across social and religious circles, with many urging the government to take immediate and concrete action to safeguard lives and restore peace nationwide.
