Soludo Maintains Strong Lead as Anambra Poll Results Trickle In
By Shalom Ikuvbogie
Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Governor Chukwuma Soludo, is in a commanding lead as results from all 21 local government areas in the Anambra governorship election continue to come in.
According to figures released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Soludo’s APGA secured comfortable wins across nearly all the LGAs, widening the gap between him and other contenders.

The results show APGA dominating in areas such as Aguata, Njikoka, Awka South, and Anambra West, where the party recorded some of its highest tallies. In Aguata LGA, APGA polled 35,559 votes against APC’s 4,125, while in Anambra West, it recorded an overwhelming 71,365 votes compared to APC’s 16,595.
Across other councils like Onitsha North, Orumba North, and Ogbaru, Soludo maintained a similar momentum with consistent margins, leaving his closest rivals far behind. The Labour Party and the Peoples Democratic Party trailed significantly in most polling areas, with both parties managing only a few hundred votes each in several councils.

Observers say the results reflect continued support for Soludo’s administration and the APGA structure across the state. The incumbent’s performance, they noted, mirrors the political pattern that has kept APGA dominant in Anambra politics for nearly two decades.
While final collation is still ongoing, early figures suggest that Governor Soludo is well on course to secure another term, pending INEC’s official declaration of results.
