Governor Chukwuma Soludo has been declared winner of the November 8 Anambra governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), securing a second term in office.
The Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Edogah Omoregie, announced the result at the INEC headquarters in Awka on Sunday, declaring Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) the duly elected governor.

According to the official result, Soludo polled 422,664 votes, far ahead of his closest rival, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 99,445 votes. Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) followed with 37,753 votes, while the Labour Party candidate, George Moghalu, garnered 10,576 votes. John Nwosu of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) secured 8,208 votes.
The outcome cements APGA’s stronghold on Anambra politics, continuing a legacy of dominance that has spanned nearly two decades.

Observers described the election as largely peaceful, though voter turnout was modest in several parts of the state.
Soludo’s victory reflects sustained support for his administration’s reforms in infrastructure, education, and security, which many voters say influenced their decision at the polls.
The governor is expected to receive his certificate of return from INEC in the coming days.
