Donald Trump outlines Musk’s role as enforcer-in-chief

US President Donald Trump has praised billionaire Elon Musk as a crucial force in implementing his administration’s sweeping executive orders, dismissing concerns over the potential overreach of executive power.

In a joint Fox News interview, Trump credited Musk, who was his top donor during the 2024 campaign, with ensuring that his policies are enforced without bureaucratic delays.

As head of the newly-created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Musk’s role is to eliminate “waste, fraud, and abuse” in federal spending while also acting as an enforcement mechanism for Trump’s executive directives.

Musk, donning a “Tech Support” T-shirt during the interview, emphasized that his mission is to help Trump execute “the will of the people” by pushing policies through federal agencies.

However, Trump’s latest executive order, which expands White House control over regulatory agencies like the SEC, is expected to face legal challenges.

Despite speculation over Musk’s growing influence in the administration, both men dismissed rumors of friction, with Trump asserting that their alliance remains strong.

“The people are smart, they get it,” he said, confident that Americans support his leadership despite media scrutiny.
