Four Dead, 50 Injured in Zamfara Market Explosion – NEMA
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has confirmed that four people lost their lives, while 50 others sustained injuries in a fire explosion at Talata Mafara market in Zamfara State on Tuesday.
In a statement, NEMA’s Director General, Zubaida Umar, said the agency swiftly deployed a rescue team from its Sokoto Operations Office to manage the emergency.
Preliminary findings indicate that the explosion was caused by a fire, reportedly triggered by a discarded cigarette butt igniting combustible materials in the market.
