Discover purpose early,minister counsel pupils
The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has urged graduating students of Chris-land Schools to identify their life’s purpose early and work steadfastly towards achieving it through focus, discipline, and independence.
He gave this charge during the joint valedictory ceremony for 327 graduating students in the Class of 2025 from all Chris-land secondary school campuses. The event, held at the Oriental Hotel in Lekki, Lagos, brought together pupils from the school’s Idimu, VGC, Ikeja, Lekki, Festac, and Abuja campuses. Addressing the gathering, the minister underlined the importance of living a purpose-driven life. “You need to find answers to key questions, including: What is your purpose? How do you want to achieve that purpose? When do you want to achieve it?” Tunji-Ojo said.
“You need to have a timeline to achieve success,” he added.
Also speaking at the ceremony, guest speaker and Senior Franchise Director at Coca-Cola, Mrs Phoebe Dami-Asolo, told the students that success was within reach for those who face challenges with courage and resolve. “The power to achieve success is in your hands. Give your best in whatever field you find yourself, regardless of age, gender, or background,” she said.
“You have been equipped with all it takes to succeed. The only limitation is yourself. Let nothing stop you.” Dami-Asolo also highlighted the value of peer support, networking, and resilience.

“Bond with your peers, grow your network; empathize, grow, and shine together. You are entering a world where people fight for everything. Let nothing silence you. Go with the grit and resilience needed to thrive. Do not take no for an answer,” she advised. In her remarks, the Managing Director of Chris-land Schools, Mrs Ibironke Adeyemi, said the graduating students had been exposed to a broad range of academic, leadership, and co-curricular activities, both locally and internationally, to help refine their skills and leadership potential. Delivering the valedictory speech on behalf of the graduating class, Joanna Eke expressed gratitude to the school’s founder and staff for fostering a strong sense of purpose and unity among the students.

“We’d like to start by thanking our Chairman and Founder, Dr Winifred Awosika, for her unwavering vision to empower young minds through quality education,” she said.
“Our appreciation also goes to the management of Chris-land Schools Limited for sustaining that vision, to our amazing teachers who never gave up on us, our supportive parents, and every staff member who contributed to our journey.”
