Adeleke Denies ‘Missing’ Claims, Says He’s in U.S. for Davido’s Wedding
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has debunked claims by the All Progressives Congress (APC), Osun chapter, that he is missing, clarifying that he is currently in the United States for the wedding of his nephew, popular music star David Adeleke, known as Davido.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor described the reports as misleading and politically motivated.
“Governor Adeleke left Nigeria for the United States via the family private jet a few days ago for the wedding of the global music icon, his beloved nephew, David Adeleke,” the statement said.
Rasheed went further to extend an invitation to the opposition. “His Excellency is extending an invitation to the opposition party to attend the event and share in the joy of the occasion with the Adeleke family. Those unable to attend may join virtually,” he added.

He also noted that Governor Adeleke has not taken any official vacation since assuming office in November 2022, and emphasised that this current trip is brief so the governor can continue attending to key state matters.
“Meanwhile, the Governor is in constant communication with his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, who is supervising activities of the government,” the statement concluded.
