Osun Lawmakers Misjudged Adeleke’s Loyalty — Aide
The defection of two Osun senators to the All Progressives Congress has been described as a miscalculated move triggered by political assumptions.

Governor Ademola Adeleke
Hezekiah Bamiji, media adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke, said the lawmakers acted on unfounded rumours that the governor was planning to switch parties.
Speaking on Channels TV’s The Morning Brief on Thursday, Bamiji said Senators Francis Fadahunsi (Osun East) and Olubiyi Fadeyi (Osun Central) fell for a trap set by the APC.

“Maybe it was a miscalculation. The rumour overwhelmed them. They assumed the governor was moving, and as Abuja-based politicians, they wanted to act fast,” he said.
He criticized the lawmakers for not consulting Adeleke, who he described as the undisputed leader of the PDP in Osun. “They should have spoken with the governor and perhaps with their constituents too. I doubt if any of that happened,” Bamiji added.
He insisted that Adeleke remains committed to the PDP and does not need to join the APC to deliver on governance in Osun.
Fadahunsi and Fadeyi were among four PDP senators who officially joined the APC on Wednesday, raising the ruling party’s Senate strength to 70, while the PDP’s count dropped to 28.
Talks about Adeleke’s political stance intensified after he, his brother Adedeji, and singer Davido visited President Bola Tinubu in Lagos.
