Bimbo Ademoye Wins Copyright Battle as YouTube Restores Film
By Shalom Ikuvbogie
Nollywood actress and filmmaker Bimbo Ademoye has confirmed that a copyright dispute involving her YouTube movie, Where Love Lives, has been resolved in her favour, bringing an end to weeks of uncertainty around the project.
The actress shared the update on Monday, expressing relief after the film was reinstated and the disputed content taken down. She credited her mother, close associates, creative partners and online supporters for their persistence throughout the process.
According to Ademoye, the issue began when an individual using a false identity allegedly laid claim to a song featured in the film. Although the actress had secured full rights and consent from the original artiste, the song was reportedly uploaded to digital streaming platforms under another name, triggering a copyright strike against her YouTube channel.
The claim led to the temporary demonetisation of Where Love Lives, which was released in December 2025 and had already recorded millions of views. During that period, revenue generated by the film was allegedly redirected.

Ademoye had earlier described the situation as emotionally exhausting, revealing that it left her distressed and considering legal action. She demanded that the false claim be withdrawn, insisting that the work was rightfully hers.
With the dispute now settled, the actress said the overwhelming support she received, particularly from her online followers, played a significant role in helping her endure the ordeal. She noted that the experience reinforced her appreciation for her fans and reaffirmed her commitment to protecting her creative work.
