ARCON Mandates Prior Approval for Advertisements

The Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) has directed all influencers and content creators to obtain approval before publishing advertisements on any platform.

This directive aims to curb misleading advertisements, particularly in digital media, following incidents like the CBEX ponzi scheme.

All advertisements must undergo ARCON’s vetting and approval process before release.

Misleading or exploitative ads will not be tolerated.

Social media platforms and influencers fall under ARCON’s regulatory scope.

ARCON has established a task force to monitor advertising content and investigate violators, who may face sanctions.

The public is encouraged to report suspicious or deceptive advertisements, supporting ARCON’s initiative to regulate digital advertising.
