Bye-election: APC’ll secure 98% of votes in Ovia constituency, says Edo deputy governor
While urging the party not to become complacent, he called for collective effort to mobilise eligible voters across the council area to turn out on election day.
The Deputy Governor stated that his goal is for the election to be concluded and victory declared in favour of the APC by 1pm on election day.
“I can assure you that the APC will secure 98 per cent of the votes in the election in Ovia Federal Constituency. We don’t need to say much at Isiuwa because this is Omosede’s community, and Ovia North-East is her local government area,” Idahosa declared.
He told supporters that despite previous political differences, he and the party’s candidate share common goals centred on the development of Ovia Federal Constituency.

In her remarks, Igbinedion thanked the Deputy Governor for personally leading the campaign team. She pledged to provide healthcare facilities where needed and to complete electrification projects initiated by her predecessor, Idahosa. She also promised to supply agricultural inputs to support farming communities.
The APC candidate added that she had no regrets about leaving her former party, the Peoples Democratic Party, for the APC. She said her decision was motivated by the need to stay connected with the federal government in order to bring development to her constituents and the state at large.
“APC is the only team that is afloat and thriving. Our ship is beautiful — a beautiful yacht — and it is ready for everyone,” she said.
