Swedish pole vault star Armand “Mondo” Duplantis has once again rewritten history, breaking his own world record with a jump of 6.27 meters.
The 25-year-old achieved the feat at the All Star Perche event in Clermont-Ferrand, France, on Friday night.
Duplantis, who entered the competition as the overwhelming favorite, secured victory early by clearing 6.02 meters.
Rather than stopping there, he raised the bar to 6.27 meters, attempting to surpass his own record of 6.26 meters, which he set in August 2024 in Poland.
With a flawless first attempt, he soared over the bar, setting a new world record for the 11th time in his career.

After the jump, an elated Duplantis described the feeling as “euphoric,” adding that every record-breaking moment remains special.
His journey of setting new benchmarks began in February 2020, when he first claimed the record with a leap of 6.17 meters.
Since then, he has consistently pushed the limits of the sport, improving his mark by a centimeter with each new record.
Duplantis’ latest achievement comes months after winning his second Olympic gold in Paris, where he also broke the world record at 6.25 meters.
The Louisiana-born athlete has now broken his own record twice in Clermont-Ferrand, having previously cleared 6.22 meters at the same event in 2023.
Despite celebrating his latest milestone, Duplantis remains focused on future challenges.
His next competition is scheduled for March 13 in Uppsala, Sweden, followed by the World Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China, on March 21-23.

Asked about his next target, he playfully hinted that 6.30 meters could be within reach soon.
With every record he sets, Duplantis continues to redefine what is possible in pole vaulting, cementing his status as one of the greatest athletes of his generation.
