Ex-Minister Akinyemi Alleges Foreign Involvement in Boko Haram Funding
Professor Bolaji Akinyemi, former Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, has made a startling claim regarding the funding of Boko Haram.
In an interview on Arise TV News, Akinyemi alleged that white pilots were involved in delivering weapons and money to the terrorist group during the dead of night.
The statement came in response to recent remarks made by US Congressman Scott Perry.
During a hearing of the US Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency last Thursday, Perry accused the US government of misdirecting nearly $697 million in aid to terrorist organizations, including Boko Haram, ISIS, and Al-Qaeda.
Akinyemi, speaking from his experience serving on the Boko Haram Committee, shared reports from villagers who had witnessed helicopters piloted by white individuals landing at night.
These helicopters were allegedly offloading arms, money, and other goods for Boko Haram.

“Villagers kept telling us that in the middle of the night, helicopters piloted by white people kept landing and offloading guns, money, goods, and all kinds of things to Boko Haram,” Akinyemi explained.
“These villagers had no reason to lie about what they saw, and they didn’t know who these white people were. We initially thought it was the French, but now we are hearing from an American Congressman that it was the Americans involved.”
Akinyemi also raised concerns about the Obama administration’s refusal to sell arms to Nigeria, citing human rights issues linked to the government’s handling of Boko Haram.
He suggested that this policy created a contradiction: despite the US refusal to arm Nigeria, there seemed to be evidence pointing toward American involvement in arming Boko Haram.
