Forgery Claim Causes Rift in Osun APC Over 2026 Ticket
A disagreement has broken out among youth leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun West Senatorial District following an allegation that signatures were forged in a communiqué pushing for the party’s 2026 governorship ticket to be zoned to the district.
At least 40 youth leaders from Ola-Oluwa, Isokan, Ede North, Ede South and Ayedire claimed their names were included without consent. One of them, Alimi Bakare, said the document did not represent their position, insisting that many of them neither attended the meeting nor signed the communiqué.
Bakare alleged that a single person signed on behalf of all ten youth leaders in Ede North. He appealed to party leaders to focus on competence rather than zoning.

Other youth leaders, including Amos Amindiya from Ola-Oluwa, Raji Rafiu from Isokan and Idris Aderibigbe, accused some members of being coerced to support the call for zoning the APC ticket to the district instead of backing the most qualified aspirant.
But Osun West APC leader, Imran Mojeed, dismissed the forgery allegation. He insisted that those present at the meeting signed willingly and that video evidence supports the process. He accused the dissenting voices of creating tension for personal motives.
Mojeed said the communiqué only reaffirmed earlier appeals made to the party leadership to consider Osun West for the 2026 governorship slot, adding that no specific aspirant was favoured.
