Former Bayern Munich Youth Player Left Brain Dead After Collision

Former Bayern Munich World Squad player Guo Jiaxuan left brain is dead following an on-field collision during a training match in Spain.

The 18-year-old Chinese footballer suffered a severe head injury last Thursday while playing against RC Alcobendas in a camp organized by the Beijing Football Association.

Guo reportedly collided with another player’s knee and was rushed to a Madrid hospital, where doctors diagnosed him with a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a life-threatening brain bleed.

His condition quickly worsened, and medical staff informed his family that survival was unlikely.

Despite doctors recommending the removal of life support, Guo’s father insisted on keeping him alive and arranging his return to China for further treatment.

The family has since accused the Beijing Football Association and Guo’s club, Beijing Guoan, of failing to cover his medical expenses, alleging that no insurance was purchased for the trip.

Following public outcry, the Beijing FA reportedly agreed to facilitate Guo’s repatriation and pledged support for his continued care.

Meanwhile, RC Alcobendas expressed their solidarity with the injured player and his family.

Guo, a promising talent who had represented China at the U-17 level, participated in Bayern Munich’s World Squad program in 2023, a global initiative aimed at developing young footballers.

The accident has raised concerns over player safety and medical coverage in international training programs.

As his family clings to hope for a miracle, the football world mourns the devastating turn of events that cut short the career of a rising star.
