Ibadan Cultural Festival 2025: Colours, Culture, and Community Spirit Light Up Liberty Stadium
The 2025 edition of the Ibadan Cultural Festival came alive on Saturday with a dazzling display of history, culture, and community pride. Hosted at the iconic Obafemi Awolowo (Liberty) Stadium, the event drew a massive crowd of proud Ibadan indigenes and cultural aficionados from across Nigeria.
The stadium brimmed with excitement as traditions took centre stage, most notably during the electrifying Warlords’ Parade. Adorned in traditional warrior regalia, participants re-enacted scenes that celebrated the martial heritage of Ibadan, honouring ancestors whose courage shaped the city’s storied past.
Another highlight of the festival was an awards ceremony that honoured distinguished individuals for their contributions to Ibadan’s growth and cultural preservation. Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri were among the recipients recognized for their commitment to development and national unity.
