JAMB Issues Final Warning: No UTME Registration Extension After March 8

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reaffirmed that the registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will not be extended beyond the March 8 deadline.

JAMB spokesperson Dr. Fabian Benjamin issued a statement on Tuesday in Abuja, stressing that the registration window, which began on February 3, will close as scheduled.

Dr. Benjamin emphasized that the deadline has been widely publicized and will not be adjusted. He urged candidates to avoid last-minute rush and complete their registration promptly.

“This announcement is crucial as we have noticed a decline in the number of candidates registering for the examination,” he stated.

JAMB confirmed that over 1.5 million candidates have successfully registered, aligning with the board’s projections.

The spokesperson highlighted that the UTME schedule is fixed, and any extension would disrupt subsequent processes, including examinations, results management, and university admissions.

He urged all prospective candidates to adhere strictly to the registration timeline to avoid missing out on the opportunity to sit for the 2025 UTME.
