Kisarazu Named Base for Nigerians in Japan
The Japanese government has approved Kisarazu City as the settlement base for Nigerians wishing to live and work in Japan.
The decision was announced during the Tokyo International Conference for African Development, where Japan also selected towns for citizens of Tanzania, Ghana, and Mozambique.
Under the plan, Nigerian professionals, artisans, and young talents will be able to apply for a special visa that allows them to work and develop skills in Kisarazu. Officials say the move is aimed at strengthening manpower exchange and boosting economic ties between both countries.

Nigeria’s Acting Ambassador to Japan, Florence Akinyemi Adeseke, said the designation would create opportunities for young people while helping both nations achieve growth.
Kisarazu already shares a connection with Nigeria, having hosted the national team during preparations for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Mayor Yoshikuni Watanabe welcomed the new role for his city, saying it would help revive the local economy and expand its population.
