Nigerian Teens Shine at Global Competition in London

Three Nigerian students have brought pride to the nation by winning top honors at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals in London, showcasing the strength of Nigeria’s youth on an international stage.

Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu, 17, clinched the title of Overall Best in English Language Skills, while Rukayya Muhammad Fema, 15, excelled as the Overall Best in Debate. Hadiza Kashim Kalli earned the Outstanding Talent Award, securing a gold medal.

The trio, representing Nigerian Tulip International College in Yobe State, outshone thousands of competitors from 69 countries.

Their remarkable achievements have drawn widespread praise, with many highlighting the potential of Nigeria’s education system to produce world-class talent.

Furthermore, the Yobe State Government and prominent figures, including Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, former Minister of Communications, celebrated the students’ success. Pantami called for national recognition, suggesting the federal government honor the teens with rewards similar to those given to Nigeria’s sports stars.

The federal government, through initiatives like the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, continues to support education by removing financial barriers for students. These efforts aim to nurture more young Nigerians like Nafisa, Rukayya, and Hadiza, who are seen as beacons of the nation’s bright future.

The students’ success underscores Nigeria’s growing influence in global academic competitions and serves as an inspiration for other young scholars to pursue excellence.
