Onne Port Terminal Operator Announces Tariff Hike from April 2025

The West African Container Terminal (WACT), operator of the port terminal at Onne Port in Rivers State, has announced a planned increase in tariffs for operations within the facility, effective April 1, 2025.

In a statement released to the press, WACT disclosed that regulatory agencies had approved an adjustment to Terminal Handling Charges (THC) and storage fees. Under the new structure, THC will rise by 8%, while storage charges will see a 100% increase.

The company acknowledged the potential inconvenience to port users but noted that storage-free days would be extended from three to five to cushion the impact.

WACT justified the adjustment as a move to enhance commercial activities, improve reliability, and ensure a more cost-effective operation for both the terminal and its customers.

The revised tariffs will be published on WACT’s website on the effective date, with the company emphasizing its commitment to delivering top-quality service despite the changes.
