Osimhen Nears Return as Galatasaray Coach Gives Update
Galatasaray S.K. coach Okan Buruk has said Victor Osimhen is close to returning to action, with the striker expected to rejoin the squad in the coming weeks.
Osimhen has missed the club’s last two matches after sustaining an arm injury during a UEFA Champions League play-off against Liverpool F.C. at Anfield.
In his absence, Galatasaray lost 2–1 to Trabzonspor before bouncing back with a 3–1 victory over Göztepe on Wednesday, a result that restored their four-point lead at the top of the Turkish Super Lig.
Speaking after the match, Buruk said the forward could be included in the squad for next weekend’s fixture against Gençlerbirliği if his recovery progresses well. He added that the player might also be considered for the high-profile derby against Fenerbahçe S.K..
The club had earlier confirmed that Osimhen has resumed light running exercises as part of his rehabilitation.

If he does not feature immediately, the Nigerian striker is expected to miss one more league match, Sunday’s home game against Kocaelispor.
Despite undergoing surgery on his arm, Osimhen is projected to be sidelined until at least the end of April, although supporters remain hopeful of an earlier return, particularly ahead of the derby scheduled for April 26.
The striker, who joined Galatasaray on a permanent deal last summer, has been influential this season, scoring 12 league goals and adding seven more in European competitions.
