Oyedepo Clarifies Church Operations, Urges Public to Study Mandate
David Oyedepo, the presiding bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, popularly known as Winners Chapel, has called on the public and church members to familiarize themselves with the church’s operational guidelines as outlined in its manual, “The Mandate.”
Speaking on Sunday after the third service at the church’s headquarters in Ota, Oyedepo emphasized the importance of understanding the church’s structured processes.
Addressing speculations surrounding the departure of Bishop David Abioye, the church’s former first vice president, Oyedepo clarified that all activities within the church are guided by a clear framework.
He noted that “The Mandate,” published in 2012, serves as the church’s operational blueprint and was divinely inspired. “The instructions for building this church and its operations came to me alone,” he said, urging people to read the manual to gain insight into the church’s practices.
Oyedepo also highlighted the church’s strict adherence to order, explaining that even his wife had to apply formally to work within the ministry. “No one joins this ministry by claiming divine calling without due process,” he said, detailing the requirement for applications, interviews, and formal employment letters.
He attributed the church’s success to its disciplined structure, contrasting it with organizations lacking clear operational guidelines.
The bishop’s remarks come amid public interest in the church’s leadership transitions, reinforcing that the church operates under a defined system accountable to its governing board.
