Fear has continued to spread across parts of Oyo State after gunmen attacked three schools in Oriire Local Government and abducted several pupils and a teacher. What started like a normal Friday morning quickly turned into panic as gunshots were heard around the communities.

Residents said the attackers arrived wearing military uniforms, and many people first believed they were security officers. Moments later, gunshots filled the area and teachers and pupils began running for safety. When the attack ended, several children were nowhere to be found.

Parents said the pain has been hard to bear since the incident happened. Many rushed to the schools hoping to find their children, but returned home with fear and unanswered questions. Some said they have not been able to sleep.

The attack has also left nearby communities worried, with many parents now afraid to send their children to school. Teachers who escaped said they still cannot forget what happened that morning.

Security agencies, including the Oyo State Security Network Agency and the Nigeria Police Force, said efforts are ongoing to rescue the victims. For now, families in Oriire say they can only wait and hope for the safe return of their children.
