In a remarkable effort to promote education and youth development, the Pacesetter Youth Initiative (PYI) successfully hosted the Nurture a Future Scheme: Back to School Drive 1.0, a two-day outreach program aimed at inspiring students to stay in school, dream bigger, and reach their full potential.
This year’s edition was themed “Rising Above Challenges: Staying in School Against All Odds”; a theme carefully chosen in response to the increasing rate at which secondary school repeaters drop out and lose direction afterward. The initiative sought to remind students that every setback can be a stepping stone toward success and that perseverance in education is key to shaping a brighter future.
The first day of the program was held at Ilupeju Secondary School, Ilupeju, Lagos, while the second day took place at Ransome Kuti Memorial Grammar School, Mushin, Lagos. Both days were filled with engaging sessions, motivational talks, and interactive activities that rekindled hope and enthusiasm among students.
The atmosphere was inspiring; laughter, learning, and heartfelt reflections filled the air as facilitators encouraged students to overcome life’s obstacles and remain committed to their dreams.
Special recognition was given to the facilitators: Hon. Olayinka Dolapo Faruq (ODF), Amb. Abdulsalam Agbelega, and Amb. Mustapha Najmudeen (S-One), for their impactful sessions and unwavering dedication to youth development. Their talks highlighted resilience, focus, and the power of education as tools for transformation.
The school management of both Ilupeju Secondary School and Ransome Kuti Memorial Grammar School expressed deep appreciation to the PYI team for choosing their schools as beneficiaries of the initiative. The sessions were rounded off with the distribution of school bags and writing materials, sparking excitement and gratitude among students.
Speaking about the project, the Team Lead of the Pacesetter Youth Initiative, Adebisi Adams Oyeshakin, emphasized that the scheme aligns with PYI’s long-standing commitment to fostering quality education and empowering young minds.
“We believe every child deserves a chance to learn, grow, and thrive. The Nurture a Future Scheme is our way of ensuring that students don’t give up on education, no matter the challenges they face,” he said.
