PalmPay Warns Users Against Rising Online Scam Tactics

PalmPay Limited has urged its customers across Nigeria to be cautious of fraudulent links and digital schemes as online scam attempts continue to target bank users nationwide.

The Managing Director of the fintech company, Chika Nwosu, gave the caution during a public sensitisation walk in Kano aimed at educating residents on how to identify suspicious online activities.

Nwosu said the campaign was prompted by complaints received through customer support channels and social media, noting that while reported fraud cases are dropping, the goal is to eliminate them entirely.

He advised customers to avoid clicking on links shared on social media or sent privately without proper verification, warning that many fraudsters disguise themselves with fake bank platforms to lure unsuspecting users.

According to him, PalmPay wants to maintain a safe financial environment and ensure that no customer loses money due to deceptive online tricks.

He added that the company will continue to strengthen security systems and increase awareness across major cities.

The sensitisation walk drew members of the public and security volunteers who distributed leaflets and shared safety tips with mobile phone users in the area.
