Petrovic Joins Bournemouth from Chelsea in £25m Deal

Serbian goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic has completed a move from Chelsea to Bournemouth in a deal believed to be worth £25 million.

The 25-year-old signed a long-term contract that will keep him at the South Coast club until 2030. Petrovic, who joined Chelsea from Major League Soccer side New England Revolution in 2023, spent last season on loan at Strasbourg in France, making 31 appearances in total for the Blues before his exit.

Speaking after sealing the move, Petrovic said he was excited about the next step in his career, adding that Bournemouth offered him the right platform to grow. “I came to Bournemouth because I want to play at the highest level and improve every day,” he said.

The move comes as Bournemouth continues to rebuild its goalkeeping department. Last season, the club had Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan, but the Spaniard has since signed permanently for Arsenal. Meanwhile, back-up goalkeeper Mark Travers joined Everton earlier this week.
