Pro-Fubara Group Demands Probe into Rivers Pipeline Explosions
A sociopolitical group, Simplicity Movement, has called on the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), and security agencies to investigate recent pipeline explosions in the state, particularly the reported blast on the Trans Niger Pipeline (TNP) in Bodo, Gokana Local Government Area.
Speaking at a news briefing in Port Harcourt, the group’s National Leader, Sobomabo Jackrich, expressed concerns over the incidents, describing them as threats to lives, the environment, and the state’s economy.
He urged authorities to determine if the explosions were acts of sabotage and ensure that those responsible face justice.
Jackrich also dismissed claims that Governor Siminalayi Fubara had demolished and abandoned the Rivers State House of Assembly complex, insisting that reconstruction efforts were already underway before the recent state of emergency was declared.

He refuted President Bola Tinubu’s remarks on the matter, stating that the governor had been working on a modern Assembly complex, which was over 80 percent completed before the intervention of the Sole Administrator.
While condemning the suspension of Governor Fubara, his deputy, and the state House of Assembly, Jackrich emphasized that Simplicity Movement was willing to support the Sole Administrator, provided that democracy is restored without delay.
He urged political actors and stakeholders to de-escalate tensions and focus on restoring democratic governance in the state.
