Senator Nwoko Defends Polygamy Amid Marital Controversy

Delta North Senator Ned Nwoko has voiced strong support for polygamy, saying he feels sorry for men who stick to just one wife, as it brings more balance to family life.

Speaking on Sunday, Nwoko compared having multiple wives to standing on several legs for better stability, rather than wobbling on one.

“Imagine trying to balance on a single foot—it’s tough. But with two, three, or four, you’re steady. That’s why I pity guys with only one wife,” he explained.

The lawmaker, who has no regrets about his own marriages, brushed off claims that the Bible frowns on polygamy by pointing to the Old Testament. “I’m a man of faith, but that’s a separate talk,” he added.

Nwoko firmly denied any domestic violence in his home, insisting he respects and loves his wives and children. “I’m not violent at all,” he said.

His comments followed a wave of public attention on his marriage to Nollywood star Regina Daniels, sparked by her recent social media posts.

On Instagram,  Regina Daniels shared photos of a new mansion she bought, captioning it: “In my house, I am a Queen! I needed a roof over my head, so I got this for me and my family.”

The post came after a viral video from October 18 showed her in tears, claiming abuse. “In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my own house, I am a Queen. Not again. I can’t stand the violence, it’s too much,” she said in the clip.

The couple, wed in 2019, share two kids and have long drawn eyes due to their age gap and Nwoko’s polygamous lifestyle.
