Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Announce Engagement
Pop superstar Taylor Swift has revealed she is engaged to American footballer Travis Kelce.
The singer made the announcement on Instagram on Tuesday with the caption: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” The post included photos of the Kansas City Chiefs tight end proposing, with Swift showing off her diamond engagement ring.
Within four hours, the post had attracted more than 18 million likes, with fellow celebrities such as Avril Lavigne and Cara Delevingne offering their congratulations. Kelce’s team, the Chiefs, wrote on X: “Today is a fairy tale… Congrats to Travis and Taylor — we’re excited to have you as a permanent member of the Chiefs Kingdom family!”

US President Donald Trump also reacted, wishing them “a lot of luck”, describing Kelce as “a great player” and Swift as “a terrific person.”
The engagement ring, understood to be an old mine brilliant cut, was designed by Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewellery.

Swift later posted a heart on her Instagram story with her song So High School playing in the background, a track said to be inspired by Kelce. Another song, The Alchemy, is also thought to reference their relationship.
The announcement follows Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour and comes just days after she gave rare insights into her relationship during an appearance on Kelce’s podcast.
