Tragedy in Ajah: Stray Bullet Kills Tricycle Rider Near Brothel
A quiet evening turned tragic in the Badore area of Ajah, Lagos, when a stray bullet claimed the life of a tricycle rider who had stopped by a brothel to unwind after work. The incident occurred on Sunday, October 12, 2025, leaving the community in shock and raising fresh concerns about cult-related violence in the area.
According to eyewitnesses, the victim had stepped out of the brothel to purchase bottled water from a nearby shop when unknown gunmen opened fire indiscriminately from a moving vehicle. One of the bullets struck the man, killing him on the spot.
“He had just finished work and went to relax,” a police source revealed. “Unfortunately, he was at the wrong place at the wrong time when suspected cultists drove by and began shooting.”
Residents suspect the shooting was linked to an ongoing rivalry between cult groups in the area. Witnesses described the attackers as occupants of a blue Toyota Corolla, who sprayed bullets while driving past.
Confirming the incident, Lagos State Police spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, said officers were alerted the following morning and found the body at the scene. “The corpse was recovered and later handed over to the family after necessary procedures,” she said.
