“We’ve lost a child who loved football. May Jiaxuan rest in peace!” Beijing Guoan expressed in a heartfelt social media post.
Guo was a standout talent, having been selected for China’s U-17 national team in 2023 and previously participating in the FC Bayern World Squad project. His passing has sent shockwaves through the football community, with tributes pouring in from fans and fellow players.
The circumstances surrounding Guo’s fatal injury remain unclear, leading to frustration and grief for his family. His brother, who has been vocal on social media, expressed deep sorrow, sharing a black-and-white photo of the young footballer with the heartbreaking caption:
“He’ll forever be frozen on the last day of his 18th year.”
Guo’s family has accused the Beijing Football Association (FA) of withholding crucial details about the incident. They have demanded access to video footage of the match, medical reports, and information on his insurance coverage, claiming a lack of transparency from the authorities.
On Tuesday, Guo’s brother stated that the family “just wants the truth and justice.” In response, the Beijing FA released an official statement, explaining that they had refrained from publicly sharing details to “protect medical efforts and respect the family’s emotions.” They also confirmed that video footage of the match has now been obtained and is under expert review.
“We have done everything possible to coordinate medical resources and support the family,” the Beijing FA stated.
Guo Jiaxuan’s tragic death has raised serious questions about player safety, medical response, and transparency in football. As investigations continue, his grieving family and the football community seek truth, accountability, and justice.
